Undergraduate program capstone course project assisting food and agricultural policy Illinois Food, Farms, and Jobs Council (ILFFJC) created by the state legislature to study policy impacting local food production potential in Illinois.


Assett Mapping and Analysis

  • Conducting Asset Mapping and Analysis for Trends / Clustering in GIS of Illinois Specialty Growers, Farmers Markets, other Direct-to-consumer markets such as CSA's and Farm stands.
  • Requesting, acquiring, merging, and nding multiple datasets describing various aspects of food production, processing, transportation and agricultural statistics from various sources.
  • GIS enabling the data and analyzing for clustering or aggregation of farms to highlight potential areas for consolidation in a warehouse or distribution center in Illinois to supply wholesale (grocers, restaurant chains) and institutional schools, universities, hospitals) demand for locally grown specialty and value-added products.
