Brownfield Reinvestment  & Renewable Energy Development:

  • Seek out sites for installing renewable energy (wind, solar, biomass, geothermal) on underused lots such as brownfields and landfill sites as opposed to greenspace development to promote community reinvestment and energy conservation.
  • Grant  Application and Collaborative support building - apply  and earn assistance for three brownfield landfill sites in the county for EPA Feasibility Study program as well as CMAP Local Technical Assistance program by gathering property information and local support from village, township, and county officials as well as local industries.
  • Leverage assistance from both programs to create a plan to inventory county brownfield sites (CMAP) and assess them for redevelopment into renewable energy projects (EPA).
  • Seek and evaluate financing instruments such as grants, loans, net-metering agreements, renewable energy credits (RECs) and other energy markets to make renewable energy projects feasible.

Bicycle suitability and Bike-ability Assessment:

  • Use walkability and bike-ability scoring criteria being used to rate, rank, and assess route suitability for bicycle users to promote energy conservation and public health.
  • Collect relevant GIS data, route photography, and create visuals assessing bike suitability of key to-from destinations.

Community Marketing & Development:

  • Work on aggregating industry and economic data for creating GIS marketing maps and materials for communities along recently constructed highway 355 extension seeking to attract industry and residents.
  • Aggregate, clean, and present data from various sources in graphic marketing documents.
